I know my magic and the power of the tongue. And so I vowed to only make music that uplifts your heart, and speaks life into your wildest dreams. ” - Soulstress

About Me

Meet Soulstress (SLSTRSS), the sultry singer, songwriter and producer of new age high-frequency R&B soul. Musically bred in NYC, Summer “Soulstress” Williams has performed such stages as BB Kings, SOB’s, Milk River and has held residency at The Groove in NY’s prestigious jazz village. Her first two projects “Late Night Session” (2010) and “Boom Bap Soul, Vol. 1” (2012) first earned her a place on major blogs and online magazines like ThisIs50, The Source, Vibe, and Singersroom under her original name. Known for her deep sultry tones paired with high vibration soul affirmations, love songs and female empowerment themes, she is often compared to the likes of Jazmine Sullivan, Lauryn Hill and Anita Baker.

In 2017, Soulstress emerged as an elevated version of herself, trademarking the term "Soulstress" to describe a woman who speaks the words of her soul through song. She self-published an inspirational songwriting journal entitled "My Inner Soulstress" (2019) that featured lyrics from her emotional and transformative song "Never Again (A Letter To My Ex)". This marked a turning point in her life, as she left an abusive and toxic relationship in search of something more, and found herself unapologetically.

Soulstress is more than just a performer, she’s a powerhouse creatress, a writer, and an entrepreneur. She’s the owner of CRWN Music Publishing (BMI), which houses her catalog and private in-house R&B Soul production team for exclusive sync licensing. She’s also the host of the podcast "The Goddess Code", where she empowers other women to find their inner goddess power with real-talk, millennial-style female empowerment, entrepreneur, and indie musician tips. She is also the founder of music tech startup Lyricster, a collaboration matching app and social network for music creators.

Soulstress is currently preparing for her 2023 tour “555”, bringing much needed new age r&b soul, afrobeats and jazz to the live music capital of the world, Austin TX, where she recently moved.
